Right so random thought on art thieves on DeviantArt in particular:

Whenever you steal something and I think I recognize it, I run the image in Google's Image Search and track down the original source. You can do that. Just open the image in the browser, open a new window with Google Image Search, and drag the image from the one window to the search box in the other one, and boom. Just about every identical-looking image pops up, whether it be from DA, Tumblr, or elsewhere, and it's a pretty simple matter from there to track down the original artist and notify him or her "Hey, so-and-so just stole your artwork."

The terrible thing is that once the theft of a single piece is confirmed, other pieces can be scanned the same way, and the appropriate artists can be notified of the theft. Then the piece can be reported by me ("Permission Issues") and perhaps more importantly, by the original artist (e.g. "My Work Used.")

What's funny is when none of the signatures in a gallery of paintings match. That amuses me.

I don't usually name names, even of thieves, but Luverfalvie is just being blatant about the theft. Signatures don't match, etc. etc. luverfalvie.deviantart.com/gal…

If your work was stolen, please report the "deviation" as "My Work Used."
